What background checks did you conduct on your companion carer?
We undertake extensive background checks on our companionship carers to assure safety, professionalism, and dependability. These inspections usually include Enhanced DBS Check ,
Right to Work and References Check
Do you offer personal care?
No. Our companion carers do not provide personal care as they lack the qualifications to assist with this.
Personal care entails activities that involve physical contact, such as applying creams, cutting nails, bathing and showering, hair care, shaving, dressing, moving and handling, toileting, and addressing any incontinence issues, among others. They are also not able to provide assistance with any medical care, such as administering medication, changing dressings, and so on. Our companion carers can collaborate effectively with them. For instance, you might have a carer come in the morning to assist you with getting up, washing, and dressing, followed by a companion carer who arrives at lunchtime to prepare a meal, do some shopping, and assist with household chores.
Are companion carers insured?
Companion carers possess public liability insurance
What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule a visit?
We are all aware that plans sometimes change, and it's possible that you might have to reschedule or cancel your visit. It's totally acceptable to do this, but you need to contact us. It is important to inform us at least 24 hours in advance of your booked appointment if you need to cancel. Failure to do so may result in full payment for the visit.
What is your definition of 'light cleaning'?
Our companion carer is able to assist with light cleaning and housework in addition to providing other services. However, our Helpers are not professional cleaners and do not bring cleaning equipment with them; instead, they will need to use yours.
Light cleaning encompasses any of the following tasks:
• vacuuming
• dusting
• organising and storing items
• cleaning dishes
• removing waste and sorting recyclables
• cleaning surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms
• using bleach in toilets
• cleaning out a refrigerator
• Cleaning the floors of the kitchen and bathroom
They cannot perform any of the tasks we categorise as deep cleaning
• relocating furniture
• addressing any elevated areas that are difficult to access
• cleaning baseboards
• organising cupboards – both inside and outside
• maintaining ovens
• cleaning floors/tiles or removing scale
• addressing any area that is heavily soiled or stained
If you need any of these services, we suggest reaching out to a local cleaning company.
Is it possible for my companion carer to drive me in their vehicle?
Our companion carers are equipped to safely transport you to appointments and visits. This could involve a trip to a shopping centre, café, or garden centre, or attending a GP, hospital, or dental appointment. There will be a charge for utilising their fuel.
Along with covering the Helper's time during outings, you would also need to compensate them for the use of their vehicle and fuel expenses. The agreed amount of time for the visit is included to account for their mileage cost, and this will be reflected in your statement at the end of the month.
Additional time has been added to your visit, and charges will be applied at the end of the month.
Up to 5 miles in 15 minutes
Up to 10 miles in 30 minutes
Up to 15 miles in 45 minutes
Up to 20 miles in 1 hour
And so on.
Kindly confirm that you have discussed and agreed upon the arrangements with your companion giver prior to embarking on any journey
